Thursday's speed class provided all the electricity and excitement you would expect from a Las Vegas Show. Rich Fellers kicked off the class with an exciting inside turn that nearly led to his demise, as he became unseated in the sharp turn to a difficult 2 stride. Violating all laws of gravity, the pair stayed connected and Flexible didn't miss a hoof beat. The duo sped along to finish and maintain first place for much of the class.
It seemed small horses were going to rule the evening, when 15.1H Night Train pranced in the ring. He and rider Darragh Kerrins from Ireland offered a lightning fast performance that left the crowd in awe.
Maclain moved into 2nd with a perfect round on Sapphire that we have come to expect from the pair. He wowed the crowd with an inside turn that few expected and he executed brilliantly.
Everyone expected a solid round from Merideth, but she gave the crowd something to cheer for with inside turns few other riders attempted, and none achieved with the same success. Her ride was a lesson about the track, despite adding strides in the lines she ended up quickest with a truly breathtaking round that screamed perfection.
Today's class did not disappoint, in the same way winning at the table leaves you thrilled and in anticipation of more to come.
