American Knabstrupper Association

The American Knabstrupper Association ("AKA") became a legal unincorporated non-profit association under the laws of the State of Texas on July 1, 2002. The AKA is dedicated to the advancement, study, protection, exhibition and promotion of the Knabstrupper horse in North America. Its members are comprised of owners, breeders and admirers of the Knabstrupper horse. It’s goals are to educate the North American equine community about this wonderful, versatile sport horse and to represent and promote the Knabstrupper as a top sport horse choice for dressage, show jumping and eventing as well as to assist our members in marketing their Knabstruppers in North America. In 2005, after discussions with the officials of the Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark (KNN) and the many different European registries that had "Knabstrupper Books" within their registries, it became clear that North America needed its own Knabstrupper registry. And so, in July, 2005, the AKA expanded its purpose to include the registration of Knabstrupper and Half Knabstrupper horses in North America.
