North Central Reining Horse Association

   The North Central Reining Horse Association is an affiliate of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). The NCRHA is a non-profit organization formed in to serve the needs of reining horse enthusiasts in the Midwest.     Reining is a judged event designed to show the athletic ability of a ranch type horse in the confines of a show arena. Often called the “Dressage” of Western events, the Reining Horse event is the ultimate blending of horse and rider, combining speed and maneuverability through a series of intricate patterns.      In an NCRHA Show, contestants are required to run one of ten approved patterns. Each pattern includes small slow circles, large fast circles, flying lead changes, roll backs, 360 degree spins done in place, and exciting sliding stops that are the hallmark of the reining horse.
