Mississippi Eventing and Dressage Association

The Mississippi Eventing and Dressage Association also known as MsEDA was founded in Greenwood, MS as the Mississippi Dressage and Combined Training Association (MsDCTA) in November 1992. In 2001 MsDCTA was reorganized as Mississippi Eventing and Dressage Association. The Olympic sport of dressage has seen a remarkable growth in Mississippi, the region and the nation. MsEDA is organized under the federal 501C (3) code as a nonprofit corporation. It is composed of members from the state of Mississippi and surrounding states - Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas. The association sponsors educational seminars, an adult education camp and one nationally sanctioned horse show each year. It publishes a monthly newsletter, The Inside Rein, for members. The Inside Rein is available to members by mail or via email with archived issues added to the Web site from time to time. MsEDA is a charter group member organization of the U.S. Dressage Federation and is recognized by U.S. Equestrian Federation. The association's main fund-raisers are its horse show, The Sherry Levin Memorial Dressage Show, which have attracted competitors from as far away as Kentucky. The association is governed by a set of by-laws.
