Miwok Livery Stables

Enjoy horseback riding lessons at our public equestrian center, with trail ride lessons and children's summer horse camps in one of the most beautiful riding stables in the San Francisco Bay Area. Located in the Golden Gate National Park in Marin County, Miwok Livery Stables has twenty horses and a credentialed staff of riding instructors and guides. We are open to the public daily. We welcome all levels, from those new to horseback riding who want to try a trail ride lesson or Introductory classes, to Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced classes in Dressage, Huntseat and Jumping. We have gentle horses and kind and skillful instructors. All our Instructors are certified by the American Riding Instructors Association. Miwok Livery Stables has been training riders since 1981. Riding classes are held in two outdoor schooling rings, indoor riding arena, and miles of the Marin Headland's lovely scenic trails. Miwok Stables is just ten minutes north of San Francisco, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in the Marin Headlands. The scenery from horseback is beautiful – hidden from urban sprawl, a thousand acres of unspoiled California grasslands, oak trees and chapparal, home to deer, bobcats, coyote and jackrabbits, hawks and quail.
