About This Video

Steve Dady at the 2009 Egyptian Event

Nestled in the gently rolling terrain of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania located in South Central Pennsylvania is an Arabian horse farm of international distinction, and a horse's dream - OMNI Arabians.

Just as Gettysburg is know as "The History Place", for it was the site of the most famous and most important Civil War Battle which occurred in 1863, OMNI is known as the "History in the Making" place. OMNI was originally founded in 1982, however, Steve Dady is now its sole owner and head trainer.

Steve is joined in his pursuit by barn manager and nationally-recognized trainer, Julie Witmer and halter trainer, Troy White. Additionally OMNI is closely aligned with Rollingwood Farm in Rhode Island, owned and operated by nationally recognized trainer, Charlie Ethier. And, yet another close alliance has been forged with Paolo Capecci of Ca Di Gianni Training Center in Italy. This fine team of experts provides a comprehensive, synergistic approach to training methods in halter, western, english, and country disciplines for horses, amateur riders and handlers of all ages.

Upon approaching OMNI, you are struck by the beauty of the historic 19th century brick farmhouse with its 44 acres of lush green pasture surrounded by board fencing; handsome barns housing 84stalls; a state-of-the-art, 80' x 180' indoor arena; and a lovely pond. Closest to the house is the historic, red-brick aisled stallion barn which houses 12 stallions - including several national and international halter and performance champions.

Kindness, sensitivity, patience, and honesty are among the virtues one finds in the trainers and the training methods employed by OMNI. When not overseeing the farm, Steve travels the globe evaluating and purchasing horses for clients, attending shows and building lasting friendships. He is an international ambassador for the Arabian horse and is currently pursuing his judge's card.

Steve comes at his skill genetically. His father, Richard Dady, is an accomplished judge whose influence he passed on to Steve. While growing up, Steve wanted nothing more than to work with horses.

Steve's success in the halter arena is legendary. Over the years, he has garnered several world championships at the grand Salon du Cheval, in Paris, France along with national wins at the US Nationals and Canadian Nationals. Other National wins span the globe including those in Europe, South America and the Middle East.

Everyday is another history making day at OMNI Arabians!

EGYPTIAN EVENT

As the world's largest showcase for the Egyptian Arabian horse held each year in June at the Kentucky Horse Park, the Egyptian Event has long been viewed as one of the most important shows to attend on the international Arabian event calendar. This is America's premier showcase of the very essence and foundation of the Arabian horse. Attracting attendees from around the world, it offers members the opportunity to showcase their horses to an international audience. Visitors join together to honor this noble horse with its rich history and venerated traditions.

The Egyptian Event offers breeders and owners diverse opportunities to showcase their horses. They bring their yearlings, two year olds, three year olds and mature horses to compete in halter classes and performance classes where judges from many different countries select the most representative of the breed.

The Event is much more than a horse show. Egyptian Arabian stallions are presented to the public in beautiful venues, where mare owners may consider prospects for breeding. Several educational seminars are offered to all attendees on subjects such as equine health and reproductive issues, history, genetics, training, and endurance riding. The Event highlights endurance riding with a 25 mile and a 50 mile ride. Usually, more than 60 riders compete for special prizes in these rides.

A wonderful Gala evening brings together members to honor and pay tribute to the leaders in our community. In addition, barn parties are held at the show grounds, where farms host visitors and present their horses.

While the horse show is exciting, the seminars are educational, and the barn parties are fun, the Event is a special time for friends to meet, to reconnect, to create new memories, and to share their passion for the Egyptian horse.
