I love the Clinton Anderson training methods. It allows regular horse owners like me to put training on our own horses. The regular Joe horse owner can't afford a professional trainers fees. I have a friend that watches Clinton Anderson faithfully and so do I. My friend uses the technique's to train horses at the ranch where I keep mine. The methods really work and the average Joe can do it themselves. My husband and I have learned some of the methods and hope to learn more.

I called the herd for their morning meal.
He didn't come and the fear in my heart was immediately real.

He was always there, the head of the herd.
The other horses didn't come for the grain that was offered.
Those equines had a look in their eyes that something was wrong.
I knew in a moment that my pride and joy might be gone.

My heart broke that day.
As I saw Zip in the spot where he lay.

Zippos High Caliber was still beautiful, shiny, and warm.
I'd spent the night before washing and trimming in the barn.
He was silky and clean and ready to show.
All I could do was hug and hold him crying out “no!”

August 1st is a day I will never forget.
Blast the drought, the dust and the humidity that let
my best buddy fall to asthma, that dreadful disease.
I knew in my heart that I couldn't ask “God, please!”

He was gone in his prime and loved by all.
No more trophies or championships or figuring his way out of a stall.
Zip gave his heart in whatever he did.
Be it reining, halter, trail, games, or teaching a kid.

He had almost human-like qualities like no other.
We sadly buried him right beside his dear mother.
Two beloved horses laying side by side.
Thank you to all who rode them, loved them, and cried.

The healing process has barely begun.
I'll never forget the reining patterns that he run.
His speed and his quickness, the collection, the spins.
It was his pride, his heart, his versatility that helped him win.

Now as I stare at his retired bridle and special bit,
those horseshoes, the blankets each with a championship year on it,
I find my heart heavy and sometimes so sad.
I do have Zip's black sister and know that I should be glad.

There forever will be a fondness in my heart
and know that our souls will never be far apart.
I'll look up to heaven and listen for hoofbeats so fast
and know Zip and Blackie are galloping through the grass.

Rest in peace my beautiful red bay.
A piece of my heart went with you that day.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the group and haven't had a chance to introduce myself yet. I'm Amy from WV and here's a big HELLO!
I'm a huge Clinton fan and am a member of the No worries Club. I also have an opportunity for someone if they would like it. As a member of the No Worries Club they sometimes send me free tickets for the Clinics and Walkabout Tour. I have 2 tickets now that I won't be able to use but will give to someone who can use them. I hate to see them go to waste.
They are good for 2 for a Saturday admission. The next date coming up that they are good for is in April in Conroe Tx.
Since it's the Walkabout Tour every month they will be in a different state. The states they will be traveling through in the next few months are Tx, Mn, Or, Wa, Md, Ok, Nd, La, SC, Nv, Tn.
Instead of listing all the available dates here just drop me a note if you're in one of these states and think you can use the tickets and I'll let you know what date they'll be through there.
This isn't a gimmick or anything, I just would like to see the tickets used.
You can contact me here or at atcb36@hotmail.com

Hi Amy! Did anyone ever take you up on your offer? Wish I could...unfortunately, Clinton is not coming anywhere all that close to me. Hope that changes for 2010! Take care!

I sooooo miss RFD TV. I have a local cable company now that sucks and won't add the channel. It's the only channel I use to watch!! Does Clinton's 'No Worries' club show the episodes?

Check out Clinton on RFD-TV this week--it's Part 6 of Clinton's series "Working with an off-the-track Thoroughbred." It's a great series for anyone to watch!

Clinton has been running a regular series of articles in "Horse & Rider" magazine. In the Feb. '09 issue, he shows you how to yield the hindquarters under saddle. This simple maneuver sets the foundation for more advanced ones, such as lead departures and lead changes. Check it out when you get a chance!
