With eventing, is there ever an "event" that is just x-country, not all three diciplines? Dressage, show jumping, and x-country? Are they called Trail Trials?

This is me jumping my boy, Kota. We were at Danada Equestrian Center, doing an informative jumping demonstration for people who are just learning about horses. We demonstrated the different types of courses that are typical in a Show Jumping competition, while showing the audience that even a 23 year old rescue can still do a great job if you care for them correctly.

I know there are straight Dressage shows, Combined Training shows (Dressage + Stadium Jumping), Event Derbies (Dressage + Stadium Jumping w/ a few solid fences in the arena), but I've never heard of a straight xc show... I may be wrong though. It depends on what area of the country you're from, I know some states have "unusual" local circuits...

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew of any evening in Wisconsin? or maybe if you just knew of some endurance or cross country? Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the group. Recently I published an historical fiction featuring the three-day event at the 1948 London Olympics (Kindle book, "Tangerine Horse of the London Olympics") and would be grateful for recommendations of books (fiction) on eventing. Thanks.

Dear Eventers,

I wanted to post a question and a proposition. I am interested to know if there is anyone out there interested in syndicating an eventer. Great bloodline and smart looking horse. The buy in would be about 10K split 5 ways. Based on expert consultation would be an advanced horse within 2 years. 5 year old gelding 17.1 hands grey turning silver and has the scope and pedigree to go four star. I would love to put it out there and if there is anyone that has an interest, please contact me. There would be the customary agreements in place, standard operating procedure and the horse would be based in Aiken,SC. Just ping me if you have interest and I will put you in touch with the lead on this syndication.

For clarification on the cost. the horse is currently available for 50K . 5 partners at at least 10k per partner. Sorry for any confusion.

what a great group of people. I live in the foothills of CA, where riding "english" (no discpline here) is a big deal. I used to be an event junky and now that we live here and I own my own business, I find myself working more than riding. Help me to ride more, I need that. Also, what do you like to see in a small competition ground? I am looking to have Derbys at my house. How much space do I need for parking/warmup?

ideas?

Hey i understand about the working more then riding. I'm a nurse and have two horses. I hate not being able to ride but have to pay the bills.
