Helping to bring the sport of show hunters back to its roots one show at a time. Honey Tree Stables hosts a number of Field Hunter Derbies that possess both tradition and uniqueness to the sport. Courses in the Derby Field simulate natural fences found in the hunt field and those in the USHJA Hunter Derby courses. Each performance by horse and rider will be judged not only on the traditional "hunter type" movement but will also incorporate performance, manners, soundness, handiness, rider equitation, and the horse and rider as a team. Judges will look to see if the horse and rider team are not only turned out and talented, but will award those teams who work together and are well matched. This group is about sharing our passion for Hunter Derbies and creating discussion about the latest trend in Hunter/Jumpers.
