I discovered the joy of horses at age 50 and never looked back. I just published a book about top level horsewomen from all disciplines. See my video book trailer at Visit Link and read an excerpt at my website at www.HuckleHillPress.com. I think you'll love the book as much as I did writing it!

My father-in-law bought me a 2 year old gelding just because I went to help ride and chase cows once a year when they gathered.....I rode as a kid, but nothing serious. Now, I have a 2 year old. Isn't there a saying about "new and new make black and blue?" Or maybe my father-in-law just doesn't like me..hum....My gelding is 4 now and so far we've come a long way, with a long way to go. Me, more than my horse. We don't do shows. We work cows, fix fence, spread salt, brand, gather...just the basic ranch stuff. I'm still learning to rope and sort. Takes a LONG time....but enjoying every stage of it. I ride with cowboys, all having a different style. Some old school, some new. It's all been interesting. But am enjoying every minute of it. Anyone else in the same cituation?

Last July I bought a Paso Fino. My first horse and likely only. I've come to learn that I have to learn ... how to be a good partner for my horse.
