Hello, forgive me late reply, I was on assignment out of town and just now got to my mail.

I sow your images. You see what others do not see and that is awesome. Remember that to teal good story with pictures you need to have this elements: full view, close up, and extreme close up. Look for details (you are good in that I sow a lot good details), feel the frame, watch your composition, backgrounds and wait for the moment.

Peg, Photography is a beautiful job.
Before you start learning I suggest you sign up to ASMP from where you would benefit as a beginning photographer. You will be given opportunity to learn and get a lot of value info about business. How to price yourself etc...
Also lots of Workshops and seminars about photography and lighting.
ASMP gives you a huge discounts in different areas of photography business. Most of all ASMP gives all information for those who things about photography to be their carrier.
Student membership to this organization is $60.
or if you not student ($140) a year.
Your local chapter of ASMP have meetings where you can participate and learn from local photographers find mentors, schools etc.

Start working now. Take pictures learn basics on photoshop and images editing. Best would be to assist some photographers in your area for free. But as I mention before ASMP would be the best start.

You need to understand that to be a good photographer takes a bit more then taking nice pictures.
But not having basic knowledge you will be not fair to your clients and other photographers who does that for living and in the end you will hurt yourself.
