could ny1 explain what a gymkhana is

Hey everyone who loves fast horses?!

hey guys, i have never owned a horse but that is about to change in 1 year when my neighbor will give me her QH Arab cross in exchange for 1 years work at her horse rescue! i am soooo x-cited!!! the thing is a few days ago was the last time i have ridden in 1 year...soo i'm pretty rusty on my skills... my new boss said its best if i start from scratch soo i'm starting at the walk and hopefully next week i'll start at the trot and so on... soo for me that is kinda difficult caz i used to gallop ALLLL the time... now its like i REALLY just want to take off on the open desert range again.... oh well... my point is; did n e 1 else go threw the same thing???
i just moved to the high desert and i now have 3 acres soo i have the room for a horse and i am going to build a round pen and a stall with shelter for Wild-Fire (my future horses name) .. so yeah i hope i can find a friend that can help me thru this... like i said i have NEVER owned a horse b 4, but i have wanted to all my life its just....i have NO xperence WHAT SO EVER.... it would b nice to have a friend i can talk to... it was such a relief to find this site. sooo yeah.. sorry i made this post soo long but i need info asap! i need to start to learn what a basic day of a horse owner consists of... sooo yeah... lol please reply!
