Hello! I joined this group because I own a mustang mare named Lucky Strike. She's my beautiful girl, and she knows it! She is a mud pie right now because of the snow we had yesterday. That just gives me another excuse to go to the barn and spend time with her.
I'm glad to see other mustang lovers!

We bought an 8 yr old mustang mare for our 12 yr old daughter Caitlyn she and the horse are my profile pic. We bought her from a teenager who was affraid of her, but the horse and my daughter bonded, and Caitlyn is able to do most anything with Lady W, thats her name. She does have some more training to be done as she is terrified of trailers. When we brought her home we couln't go near her for a couple of days she would kick, rear and lunge at everyone, as if she were mad at us for putting her in the trailer. Thank goodness she has settled down and Caitlyn is now riding her again. If anyone knows of someone in our area that could help Caitlyn with Lady we would appreciate it , Lady is a very willing mare and Caitlyn absolutely loves her. By the way we live in vermont. Caitlyn is interested in doing gymkhana with her, She has some ground work done but is a work in progress. Any suggestions anyone.

Help save the mustangs! Distribute this video to horse (and non-horse) people you know to try and get it before the members of the US Senate as they prepare to vote on the ROAM Act this week. Please help save the mustangs by visiting the facebook site and watching the video.

Just want to make sure everyone is aware of the Napa Mustang Days coming May 15 and 16. Looks like it will be a great event; there will be a BLM adoption, some gentling training by Leslie Neuman and a parade of Ambassadors (previously adopted mustangs). See the flyer at Visit Link

Hi all! Welcome to the group!

Sue, I was training Montego Magnifico de Durango (Monty). We won the in-hand competition. Do you remember us? I ended up in the hopital right after my ride on Saturday due to an illness I had been fighting. I did end up adopting my boy back, even though I was in the hospital during the finals and adoption. A bunch of my girlfriends made sure I got him back! We competed together again in the Supreme Horsewoman Contest in December and took 4th overall. Monty is SUCH a great horse!

I am competing in the Northwest EMM currently with my new horse, Poquette. I have not been bloggin about her due to time constraints in my life and my blog is WAY behind! You can read it here: Visit Link

I'm so glad you decided to adopt. That's why we do these events. To spread the word about how wonderful the mustangs are and how trainable they are in a short period of time.

Hi Erik and Sarah!

I've read your bio and found that you were a trainer for the Mustang Makeover in Sacrmento last year. The reason I now own a mustang is because of that competition. I fell in love with them and as you can see from my profile, I adopted a yearling mustang in Reno last August. I absolutely love him and wouldn't buy any other horse. Best of luck to you this year in the competition, do you have a page we could follow your progress?

I have 2 mustang geldings. 1 is 5 and the other is 3. These guys make the best friends you will every have and are excellent on the trail.

I always get a kick watching people look at my daughters (11 and 15) in amazement as they work with these guys. Initially they are surprised that a wild animal can be so well trained and easily handled. Just takes love and dedication.

I currently have a 21 month old mustang that I got from the Yearling Challenge in Reno, NV last August. He had 90 days of human contact before I got him and I absolutely love him. We've been in the Veteran's Day Parade last November, he did fantastic. I'd like to see him as a Mustang Ambassador someday to show others what great horses they are. I'm hooked on Mustangs
