For people who just simply love horses, and it doesnt matter if they are just mucking stalls all day they would just be happy being around one of our worlds most wonderful animals.

Hello All,

I would love to introduce myself, and my new book, ON THE BACK OF A HORSE: Harnessing the Healing Power of the Human-Equine Bond, now out on Amazon Kindle.

This book explores the horse-human connection form a different standpoint, asking the question what in horses nature helps them overcome trauma, and makes them such great healers. Being a competitive rider (hunter/jumper, and now dressage), and a licensed psychotherapist, I wanted to present the reader with an in depth understanding of both the nature of human trauma, and the science behind the healing nature of horses.

I would love to hear your feedback on this!

Cheers,
Claire Dorotik MA

Hey guys i just thought i would share what i found with you guys! ok well you know thoose tennesse walker show were the horse with the best walk wins? and if it lifts its legs higher it will score more? well thoose "shows" to me are death traps. people there use sores to make thier horse lift its legs higher (overall it hurts the horse to walk) but there are some people who win fairly soo to them i give you around of appluase!! still i would never go to one of thoose shows because its abuse. * oh if any of you live in NY and know were cheap horse boarding is in the westchester orange county and rockland area are email me!!*

The shows aren't abuse. The training for the shows are abusive. T he shows are the reason for the abuse. Many shows are going away from having the horses lift so high because more are aware of the abuse to get the horse to do it.

I agree they will wrap the legs in plastic to make sure the acid they put on seeps in then if that's not enough during shows they put chains on there ankles not all riders do this but for those who do they should be ashamed

Hi ya'll. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Liz and although I primarely ride hunter/jumpers, I love all aspects of riding whether it be competative or just for fun,l hence why I joined this group. When I am not riding horses, my other passion involves drawing or painting horses. My art has been such a wonderful way to relieve stress and meet great people and their special animals. I am new to equestrian life and look forward to meeting fellow horse enthusiasts.

Hi Rliz. I own a TB named Mr. O'Malley. Sadly he is for sale because I can not afford to keep him anymore. He is off the racetrack, but has proven to be a rather talented jumper.

She's finally putting her head down. my instrutor says she's growing up phyiscally and MENTALLY. She used to be such a spook but now she could care less about things.
