IPHDA is a new Association tasked with promoting a new sport called Performance Horse Development PHD competitions test the foundation of a horse's training and a rider's skill. Performance Horse Development is a competition of How Broke Is Your Horse? At IPHDA we describe a broke horse as a horse that will wait for its rider’s cues . Then willingly accept and follow those cues By using this description of broke and the IPHDA levels of competition that get progressively more difficult we can rate "How Broke" a certain horse and rider are able to perform at. PHD was created with 2 goals: 1/ Allow riders to learn the basics of training and riding a Performance Horse through educational competitions 2/ Allow Trainers and owners a place to show case their young horses, and create a market and purpose for all levels of Performance Horses. IPHDA is committed to: 1/ Helping members develop willingly guided horses 2/ Offering competitive divisions for all horse and riders 3/ Using current technology to bring the educational event of PHD to anyone anywhere in the world
