This is for anyone who is a horse person, whether you own a horse, ride professionally, or just love them!
There is a lady named Judy who used to teach at Norris Penrose Events Center. I'm not sure if she's still there, but she is a really good trainer.
Judy Carnick? I know her decently well. She's more into hunter/jumpers, I thought, though. I can ask her next time I see her. (I, too, am at Penrose)
I wasn't sure. I worked there last year, so I knew she taught, but that's about all I know :)
Alex Robinson in Black Forest - she's good, really kind to the horses. Unfortunatley I am poor and can't afford her rates, but I would recommend her.
Stephanie and Alycia--my daughter and I will be moving to the Colorado Springs area soon (I hope). I would love to hear about the area.
Alycia- Where do you ride? We're new to the area. Any ideas of family activities?
Kele-What are you interested in learning about the Springs?
I used to ride at Pikes Peak Riding Academy, but I don't get to ride any more. I am working so much I don't have time. A friend of mine boards at Mark Reyner and she takes lessons there. She loves it. My fav thing about CS is Manitou and Garden of the Gods. When you are out here, you'll have to go to both places!
I have never heard of Manitou, but I'm trying to convince my hubby to go to Garden of the Gods (he's afraid his little car won't make it up there, lol)
Manitou Springs is this cute little town next to Colorado Springs. I grew up there and I love going down and just walking around. The arcade is a blast.
Hedy,
Where we live now, there are a number of horse organizations for both children and adults. We go on weekend riding events and at trail riding clubs/farms. There also a number of public riding areas. I was just wondering how active the area was for horse enthusiasts? It will just be my daughter (age 7) and me so I thought these type of activities would be a good way for us to make friends that have the same interests. We will be looking to buy a farm--have been considering the Peyton area, any comments?
Peyton is pretty decent. It's on the East side of Colorado Springs, I believe. Falcon and Peyton are pretty much right next to each other.
