hey, my old cutter is sweating alot more than usual. I will ride him and he will sweat like he has been lopeing for hours! My mom says hes just old and out of shape, but could somthing be wrong with him? should i worry?

Comment By Jamie Belty
on November 12, 2009, 8:25 pm

it could be that he is old and out of shape. once when i had an old horse, he was 17 when i got him 22 when i put him down, he used to be an old rodeo horse. ropin, pennin, barrels, you know, the whole catch, but as he got older he would get tired out a lot quicker and he would sweat a lot too so unless he shows signs of physical deterioratoin it could be that he is gettin out of shape. but if youre worried you might have a vet peek at him

We took 3rd in team penning out of 36 teams, and the round up club we originally qualified with and wouldnt let us go with them lost to us big time. then Bella ran a 20 second barrel pattern and a 26 second pole pattern. it was a wonderful day!

Comment By Heather Winslow
on October 10, 2009, 4:53 pm

thats good!!!!! And wasn't it raining???? Because we live in Dallas and it was raining her so was it there???? But thats probably good if it was a thick sand pen outside!!!!

okay so its been a couple years since i ran barrels, but i run them for fun all the time. the lady in my round up club put me in for barrels for the state fair and im nervous because i hate messin up big time in front of people who are super good. my horse ALWAYS anticipates the 2nd barrel and hits it unless i steer her slightly away from it. then my time is slower because i made a big turn. any advice?

also i used to compete poles but not on my competition mare, and she has never ran poles. once again the lady in my round up club put me in for poles. so im going to run both barrels and poles for fun but if anyone has any advice let me know! i would greatly appreciate it. :)
