Barbara Goldberg
Horse: Daquiri
Barbara was first introduced to horses as a 6 year old when her mother would take her along to the barn where she rode. Barbara started to ride and then show modestly in the Midwest as a junior until she left for college. Today, she owns five horses, three of which are retired show mounts. Daquiri came into her life in February 2008 when she saw his picture in the pages of The Chronicle of the Horse. “I thought he was beautiful and he was for sale,” she says. “We got along very well and I was thrilled to have him.” Besides showing in the Adult Amateur Hunter and Amatuer Owner Hunter divisions, Barbara is an active horse show volunteer. For many years, she has assisted the Motor City and Detroit Horse Shows.
