Billet

Billet One of the straps on a saddle to which the girth or cinch is buckled. All-purpose and competition saddles have three billet straps, of which two are used, usually the first and the third. Dressage saddles have often only two because an extra strap would interfere with the contact between the rider's leg and the horse.
