Grand Prix A competition at the highest levels of dressage or jumping. Commonly, the term used in dressage is Gran Prix; for jumping, it is generally written Grand Prix. Grand Prix jumping competitions often carry substantial prize money for at least the top six finishers. These events are judged on speed and accuracy; that is not knocking down fences and landing in water jumps. Gran Prix dressage is an international sport with the contents of its competitions decided by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) rather than the American Horse Shows Association (AHSA), which determines the content of the tests up to Fourth Level.
