Hackamore A Hackamore does not act on the horse's mouth as it has no mouthpiece but creates pressure just above the soft face of the nose. The strength of the effect depends on two points:

-the width of the noseband: the thinest it is, the most severe it is.

-the length of the cheeks which increases the leverage effect.
