The Mexican noseband looks and works like a grakle, but fastens much higher up the horse's jaw. It is also wider to allow more jaw to fit, which is required as it is fastened in an area where the horse's jaw is wider. They are said to be more comfortable to the horse, and there is less danger of the noseband dropping and restricting breathing.
