When she was 5, Laura Robertson’s mom asked her if she wanted to take gymnastics or soccer lessons, but Laura had other thoughts. “I said I wanted to ride ponies, and haven’t been away from horses since,” she says. Thanks to the help of rider and trainer, Keri Kampsen, Laura found her derby horse at the end of last January. “JJ” was brought into the barn as an equitation mount for a fellow client, but when that client decided to sell the gelding, Laura was quick to react. “JJ is a great horse and I’m excited to be a part of all the excitement of the derby,” she says.
