The Asociación Argentina de Polo (AAP) has announced the six teams that will take part in this year's Triple Crown, together with the five that will compete in the qualifying tournament from where two of the five teams will qualify for the Hurlingham and Palermo events.
There have been changes in five of the six teams for this year's events, and what follow are the lineups that will take part in what looks set to be a terrific and thrilling polo season in Argentina.
La Dolfina (39 goals): Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martín Nero are the new members of the team, replacing Lucas Monteverde, Jr., and Bartolomé Castagnola. They will play alongside Adolfo Cambiaso, Jr. and David Stirling, Jr.
Ellerstina (37 goals): Nicolás Pieres is the new member of the team, and he will play alongisde his brothers, Facundo and Gonzalo (Jr.), with Ignacio Heguy being another of the teams new members.
Estancia Grande (36 goals): This is a new team, formed by Monteverde and Castagnola, who will play alongside brothers Agustín and Sebastián Merlos.
La Aguada (36 goals): No changes in the Novillo Astrada brothers' team, with brothers Javier, Eduardo (Jr.), Miguel and Ignacio Novillo Astrada ready to do battle.
Pilará (33 goals): The highly-experienced Bautista Heguy will join forces with the up-and-coming Tomás García del Río, Hilario Ulloa and Cristian Laprida, Jr.
Indios Chapaleufú II (33 goals): Two other highly-experienced players, Alberto Heguy, Jr. and Eduardo Heguy, have incorporated Julio Arellano and Alejandro Novillo Astrada into their team.
The Abierto de Tortugas will start on September 27th and end on October 16th, while the Abierto de Hurlingham will take place between October 18th and November 6th. The season-closing Abierto de Palermo will take place between November 19th and December 10th.
There will be five teams battling for two berths of the Hurlingham and Palermo events: Chapa Uno (32 goals), Alegría (32), La Quinta (30), Miramar (29) and Enigma (28). This qualifier will be played on September 28th.
