About Me
My family has owned horses since I was very little and I've been riding since age 5. I started out as a barrel racer and didn't start riding english until I was 15 years old. I was an eventer and a Pony Club member until I started college and didn't have time for it anymore.
Just as I was about to graduate college, I had my leg broken during a rugby game and I had to have surgery, so I was unable to ride for a few weeks (supposed to be longer than that according to my doctors..haha oops) I could ride western, but not english because my ankle couldn't bend far enough without too much pain.
Around July, my barrel horse Lucy started having hoof problems and it was clear she would be out of commission for awhile plus she's pregnant :o). So with Lucy looking at an undetermined amount of time off, I started considering the possibility of getting back into eventing and looked at a few horses but I was in no hurry to make a decision, plus I didn't see anything that caught my eye.
A very good friend of mine decided to take the initiative for me and began searching the classifieds. She found a pretty TB gelding in my price range and surprised me with his information when I went to visit her one afternoon. Just simply out of curiosity, I called the number on the ad to get some general information. Two days later I called my friend and told her I had a really good feeling about this horse so we went to see him. One look and I knew he was the horse for me; and suddenly a decision I had mulled around for weeks was easy to make.
Since then Riley and I have done a lot of schooling. He'd only jumped up to 2ft when I bought him, but I knew he was ready for more. His talent and drive are going to make him an incredible event horse. We only made it to one show this season, but I can't wait to find out what we can do for next year! face> color> size>
