About Me
Hello there. My name is Tanya. I live in Wisconsin, but my horses are kept out at my uncles place in Michigan. I am five minutes away from the boarder so travel is very easy. I am a high school graduate and this is my second year in college. I am taking up medical billing and coding as well as an associates general business degree. My plan is to then from their go into a vet office and work from their. I myself have plenty of hobbies but I have to say one that has really started to interest me is Pen and Ink. But before I can start I have to get my set of pens.
Now about my riding. I do not compete by any means. I could of when I was eleven when I first started 4-H, but had a bad experience, let just say I never got into the ring and the girl that rode my horse I was suppose to never rode before. So it was unfairness. After that i dropped everything to do with the 4-H and riding competitively. I did at eleven have a great horse to work with. She was a Quarter Horse / Arabian cross that stood 16.2hh, bay and we named her Natasha. She was not the youngest horse, but she was great. She made it through four great years and died April 4, 2004 at the age of 42. Cass had also came to us about a year after Natasha had, he was 18 and was a chestnut Registered purebred Arabian. He himself had his own complications and made it three years with us and died October 9, 2003. Then I was horseless for sometime.
I now am happy to say I own a 18 year old Percheron / Welsh Cob draft mix, pulling pony from the Amish country. He stands at 14.3hh and is built like the Percheron but has the size of a welsh, but he his a great little guy. He does have his own little attitude, but when it comes to pulling cart he could not be happier. So yes he does pull cart and I have learned how to do just that as well, with the help of my friends, their team and trial horses before I got Lightening, my own horse. Thank you guys so much. As for saddle riding I did not ride to much with lightening because his sole purpose he was use to was a cart horse. So i quit riding. Now I have started back into riding after four years of not being in the saddle for no more then an hour or so, occasionally with friends. What changed that was when we purchased an 8 year old Registered Paint named Speedy Bandit, Speedy for short. He himself is a great guy, he loves attention and is happy just walking and trotting. Which I am fine with as well. If we are both energetic, many said he would not canter, but I have proven them wrong and we have cantered.
That's all for now. =}
