About Me

I currently live just north of Longview, TX. From September, 2005-July, 2008, I was the Assistant Coach of Stephen F. Austin State University's Equestrian Team, coaching the hunt seat riders. The team was cut in April, 2008 due to budget restrictions, so for the first time in a long time, I was back to being an Amateur rider!!!

Over the past couple of years, I have been building a small group of foundation broodmares for a Sport Horse breeding program. I had two foals born in the spring of 2009 out of my two Oldenburg N.A. approved Thoroughbred mares. Both foals are sired by the Hanoverian stallion, Graf Top II. In 2008, I acquired two Rheinlander mares, Phantasie (by Paretti) and Felicity (by Fidermark). Phantasie had a 2010 filly by Rubignon and Felicity is bred for a 2011 foal by Pablo. My TB mare, Cali, is bred to Rubignon and another TB, Roxie, is bred to Baron Van Gogh for 2011 foals. We'll begins the 2011 breeding season tryin gto get Phantasie in foal to falsterbo and Anne in foal to Pablo.

As a junior rider I showed in local North Florida hunter/jumper associations with my QH gelding, Starlight Express. I showed hunters and equitation, but equitation was definitely my stronger discipline. I then got a Thoroughbred gelding, Greystone, who I showed a little in the hunters but quickly moved into the dressage world with. I showed rated dressage shows at Training and First level in Florida as a junior and my first couple of years as an amatuer. After getting married, I moved back to my home state of Texas.

I wound up at SFASU, finishing college with a B.S. in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis. During my time as a student, I didn't have a show horse, but I did show on our IHSA club team. I qualified for Regionals in Intermediate Eq over fences and on the flat (as well as Advanced western horsemanship, even though I had never shown it prior to IHSA!). My Senior year at SFA, I was the Equine Center Manager and in the Fall of 2005, was hired as the Assistant Coach of the new Varsity Equestrian Team, in charge of the Hunt Seat riders.

I am now splitting my riding time between my 5 year old Hanoverian gelding, Donnacha (by Donavan), 11 year old Dutch/TB mare, Madi, and our 4 year old Hanoverian mare, Riana (by Regazzoni).
