About Me
I grew up with a few dozen head of mostly purebred Appaloosa's, a few arabs, a few mongrels and a thoroughbred. I trained some old wild ones and some young wild ones. Have always been up for the challenge of the ones that nobody else would train... felt no fear and won as many battles as I lost. Been to the top of many mountains, slept under the stars in the middle of nowhere, ate brine shrimp in my soup unawares, and had to search for my horses after being frightened by bears... and I don't regret a minute of it!
Been bitten, stepped on, bucked off (even landed in a fresh patch of wild mint once), kicked and rubbed off on the fence and I miss it dearly! Well, most of it, I'm a lot more careful now than I used to be, ya know, older and wiser... and somewhat better at training (still have a lot to learn).
I now have one 'too-smart-for-her-own-good' Hackney mare who's been a challenge to train but her success has been more rewarding than any other!
I can't wait to get her out on the trail next summer, would love to find others close by who would like to go too!
