About Me

My name is Evan Laster and I've been around horses all my life. Ever since i could sit up by myself my mom has had me on a horse, and i've been riding ever since. I could not imagine a life without horses I think it would be horrible because no matter how bad my day I can put my foot in the sturrip and it brings a smile to my face. Currently I am a member at our local roundup club which holds a shodeo once a month( wish it was more) and keeps records of the points you earn and at the end of the year they hold a banquet and hand out prizes for the places over all in the class. This year my favorite horse that I grew up on(candy) had to be put down because of her old age(33) and she had no teeth to chew her food with, But this horse was a dang good horse my first year to compete on her we won over 25 first and 10 seconds we made an awsome team and we rarely got below a third place. also that first year We won first in our class and high point over all. We went on like that until she got to old to ride then i retired her. Since then I've rode my sisters horse popcorn (my favorite horse) we make a good pair, then I got my new horse Autumn she is an okay horse shes just not the kind of horse that I am looking for, but we did pretty good our first year( it was her first year to and she had some big shoes to fill). Then I got my horse annie. when we got her she was four years old and just a big pet she wasn't even broke or had anything done with her. So we sent her to a trainer last october and i've been riding her since, and working with her all that I can and she has come a long way. One of my goals that I want to achive is to learn how to break away rope, and team rope( I would like to be a heeler). I would also like to find a good barrel racing horse and start competing in rodeos, and wish to one day compete professionally.
