About Me
I have been riding since the age of 7, and began teaching beginner lessons in hunters at the age of 19. By 21, I was assistant manager of the farm I taught from. I went back to college at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA in their Equine Sciences program, and later obtained my certification in Stable Management and Hunt Seat Instruction from American Riding Instructor's Association. I currently ride my own horse as well as a few of my student's horses, teach students ranging from age 10-67 whose interests include recreational riding, eventing, Pony Club, jumpers, hunters, and field hunters. I also offer several non-mounted services in management including farm/stable set-ups, consulting, clinics, grooming, and classroom clinics for groups such as Pony Club and 4-H.
In addition to my equine activities, I work as a full-time veterinary technician in canine rehabilitation and physical therapy. I also love hiking, theatre, movies, and DisneyWorld.
I am fortunate to share my home with two canine and nine feline rescues. They let me live there, provided I tend their every whim!
