About Me
Horses have been part of my life since I could sit in a saddle. I was born and raised on a cattle ranch, and have recently moved back to the ranch that I was raised on. I have competed in rodeos for over 30 years, I have shown, western and english, cattle penned, reined and took up cutting.
Barrel Racing has always been part of my life, I started chasing cans when I was six. I have the need for speed (I am also a dedicated NASCAR fan). I competed in Little Britches rodeos and then moved on to High School rodeo. I competed in Amature rodeos and then began training barrel horses competing in Futuritys and Derbys. Training and then competing with the finished product is probably one of the most rewarding things I have ever accomplished.
Barrel Racing has tooken a back burner in my life for the last few years as I have started a career as a Fisheries Technician and have started a part time business as a Equine Chiropractic Massage Therapist. I love the outdoors and animals, whether they are horses, fish or cows. I am looking forward to the spring when we start calving out the cows, and I can put some hours on my horses. My fisheries job is seasonal, 9 months a year, so the early spring will be dedicated to the horses.
I live in the central interior of British Columbia, Canada simply said it gets darned cold here. Only the dedicated and the crazy ride during the early spring. I guess I am a little of both. Of all the activities that require a horse chasing cows down the trail (or through the bush) is still one of my favorite things. Nothing beats being outside on your horse.
