About Me

As a hobby, I own and manage a small 8 horse stable in Park City UT. Boarding and training in eventing. I work with trainer who teaches me and my boarders at my farm. We are small fun group who train, compete and ride the expansive trail system to condition our horses.

I am origionally from Connecticut and started riding while in college in 1985. A friend was an eventer and let me ride her old event pony called Raisin. Raisin was a smart pony and dumped me every chance he got. But I was not so easily discouraged.

Throughout my professional career (technology) living in NYC. I would ride when and wherever I could. I volunteered for the NYC Mounted Patrol and rode in Central Park out of Clairmont Riding Academy. I joined the 1st Chelsea Pier Riding Club and rode as many horses as they would let me before they went out of business. Riding next to the west side highway wasn't a highlight, but hey it was NYC. I even drove over an hour to ride in Bedford NY to lease a horse at the same stable that Chris Reeve rode at before his accident.

When I moved to Boston in 1998, I bought my first horse. It was love at first sight. I drove an hour north of Boston to the north shore town of Essex. I was on a mission and stopped at the 1st barn I saw. I went in and asked if they had any horses for sale. They pulled out Kas. A 6 year old Appendix QH. He wasn't the most beautiful horse I'd ever seen, but I was anxious to get back in the saddle and he was the only horse for sale.

Kas and I had an amazing 10 years together. We were both green and it wasn't alwasy pretty but he took care of me. Kas was a well traveled horse...We moved from Boston to Update New York to Los Angeles and then to Park City in 2003. We competed in so many great events in Boston MA, Los Angeles, Park City UT, Kalispell MT and Egle Idaho. Kas was an amazing jumper, he'd jump what ever you put in his way. Our final show together was in Kalispell MT at Training Level before I sold him as a school master to a novice eventer.

In 2007, I bought two 3 year old American Warmblood mares. My first adventure in starting my own horses and foaling a beautiful colt. The mares are both 5 years old and competing successfully at the beginner novice level. I'm looking forward to backing my colt River next fall when he's 2 1/2 and riding him in the Spring of 2010 when he turns 3. It's a lot of work, but I love every minute of it. Someday, when I retire from technology, I might give up my day job to teach and compete full time. In the mean time, I look forward to competing with my young horses and moving up to Prelimb and beyond.
