About Me

Currently I am an Adult Amateur in Dressage and Eventing. I have been with horses all my life (except when in college), when I was 2 we couldnt afford a "horsey" so I became one! I lived in a corner cupboard in our kitchen that was my stall and ate out of peoples hands...When I was 11 (living in the NW) I got my first horse. An Appaloosa Roan mare named Lochi's Cin. Cinnamon was my best friend - we did everything together, mostly bareback. I miss her so much to this day.

My next horse was Spring Thaw, whom I found at Claremont Riding Academy (then was in NYC on the west side) or should I say that Spring found me! He was about to be kicked out of CRA because he had gotten good at depositing hack riders somewhere in Central Park and then returning to the barn (after some spot grazing I am sure) through 4 blocks of NYC traffic alone. He ended up coming home to me, where I promptly found him a home out of the Manhattan jungle, and he could be a horse again. WOW! When I met him at that point he showed me who he really was - highly intelligent (much smarter than I), a big sense of humor and fun, and a very deep soul. After 4 years of Novice Eventing and trail blazing - Spring was overcome by Lyme Disease - and for the next 3 1/2 years we battled with this through several drug treatments to only find that he would get better for a little while and then get worse. In 2004 I retired him and tried to just focus on gettin him well. Eventually I met up with Dr. Judith Shoemaker (Nottingham PA) who labled him a "chronic lyme horse who was drug resistant" and recommended Oxygen (ozone) therapy for him. We began ozone in 07 and I am very relieved, happy - overjoyed to report that Spring is well. He is back! Also a discovery made from our visit with
Dr. Shoemaker - was my true calling in life. She came up to me after the exam and told me about Eagala, she said "get him well first, but this horse would be a superb EAP horse!" Well, now I am certified ES in EAGALA and Spring is well and ready to go. It has been a long road, but I can already feel it is one well worth traveling!
This year will mark our first EAP/EAL sessions to begin once the winter bite is over. I am very excited about this as I know it is the work that I came here to do - and Spring was my totem, my guide all along. I am sure that he enjoyed the XC and the fun with eventing (we didnt do so well in dressage) - but the real reason that we met was to uplift and heal the emotional blocks of the world - at least in our corner of the world...
Thankyou so much my "pring" for your patience and your will to survive! Today he grazes with the 18 yr old and runs, rears and plays with the "under 10" crowd in his field. So glad to have you back!

Dane - Dane is my Lippi baby - what a horse! I have truly now experienced what it is like to fly on a horse! Dressage is no longer my nemisis - but rather my challenge and my quest. I have learned to understand the principals and truly love the process. I have found an amazing trainer (Elizabeth King at Orion Dressage Sporthorses) which helps a lot . But I also managed to find (or again he found me) a truly incredible parter to help teach me and show me the "sweet spot". Dane is a natural jumper, so when we start going back into eventing it will be a snap! And our dressage test will be of actual caliber - which will be a change for me going into the start box. I feel as though I have a true partner in Dane. And am incredibly lucky to have found/know him!

I want to help others; My life's goal is to start a program (1/2 profit and 1/2 non-profit) where people can come to my land (a sanctuary of peace and safety) and eat well, sleep well and be healed by the horses. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo!!!Interests:Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). I am a certified Equine Specialist through EAGALA (www.eagala.org) for this work and I have a 20 year old Appaloosa TB that is my shaman healer horse - named Spring Thaw. All I need at this point is a partner (Mental Health Professional certified by EAGALA) and some place to work and I am on the path of my life's purpose. I pray and meditate each day on how to accomplish this.
