About Me
I am my horses, I eat, sleep & breathe horses daily. I am an avid dressage competitor with my almost 18 year old Morgan gelding, Rhythm, and my 16 year old Morgan mare, Priority. I am surrounded by friends and family who have horses & ride in many different disciplines and enjoy the horse for the horse. I am fortunate to have had horses since I was 7 (I'm now 38). Sunshine was my first pony that my Dad bought/rescued, a 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 Shetland pony that we rescued & raised who we used for driving & riding. Then along came Twister, an Appaloose blind in one eye who lived up to his reputation once in a while under saddle, but was great with kids believe it or not. Then we got a 1/2 Quarter & 1/2 Arabian named Spencer who took me through 4-H and many high point awards & shows in Western & bareback & halter. Next was Buffy, a gorgeous double registered Palomino Quarter Horse built like a sport horse & just absolutely gorgeous...unfortunately, she had navicular which we managed for many years successfully & I donated her to a family that had a child with handicap. Then along came Rhythm, my Morgan pride & joy in dressage & my best friend unconditionally. He will be 18 in March and is schooling Intermediare work to show this 2009 season. When I decided to donate Buffy to the family, I also got Priority, a Morgan mare with the biggest heart & work ethic, rides & drives & schooling 3rd & 4th level work - just learned flying changes! However, she has been gifted with Piaffe since a baby. We also had Rhythm's brother, Rhapsody for a while for driving, but sold him to a lady to use for lower level dressage. Then Holger came...a Fjord to drive with a big heart & then Buddy, my Dad's 2nd pony that he trained from a pony string horse to his first mini CDE (Carriage Driving Event) and beat all the top trainers with high point of the weekend first time out. Horses are just my life. I am competing as an Adult Amateur and plan on reaching Grand Prix level in the next 2 years and hope to find a horse to train for Olympics with my trainer, Christopher K. Taylor of Sport Horse International. He has had the most successful influence on our show career in the last 2 years and I couldn't be happier with our progress & numerous awards.
