About Me
hey yall! my name is savannah autumn kamp and im 16 years old. I live in a little town in iowa called mitchell. i have two horses cheyenne and sweetie. I have been around horses almost all my life and im very thankful for that. i never had my very own horse until we moved to mitchel and i got one from my neighbor who taught me how to ride and she could tell i really wanted a horse so she made me a deal and said i could take her little yearling home and she could be mine if i helped her with chores and work around her yard to make payments so i did. i went over there everyday and worked my butt off all for this skrawny little filly named sweetie. She wasnt broke at all so i had to drag her home and i worked with her everyday and we grew really close and we trusted eachother and now today we are nearly insepertable lol. Everyone in mitchell always tells me how well sweetie behaves and how i did such a good job breaking her. Im really proud of myself because i went from not knowing how to ride to being able to ride anything you put me on! =-) ive also broke other peoples horses for them too and got paid in hay, i also just rode a couple peoples horses when they dont have time or if they need to be rode out in the spring after not being rode for a couple months. Im really glad i have horses in my life because i dont know where i would be without them especially having a really rough life growing up.
Why I love Horses....
I always feel so free when im on my horse, not a care in the world. i dont think a lot of people understand horses the way I do. Horses understand people and they knowwhat you expect of them and they try their hardest to please you. Horses dont care what you look like, if you come out to the in the morning to say good morning they wont ridicule you about how you dress or how your make up looks. A horse an detect fear and trust. If you give a horse kind patience and your time they will always be there for you and be your best friend dor the rest of their happy free life.
Horses are a lot like people; they eat, sleep, love, and care. And no matter what you say or do they will always love you for who you are and not for what you do. They dont love you because you feed them and water them, they love you because you understand each other and you are their best friend. Horses joke around just like people, they throw hay and splash water on you and they will play tag with you when your trying to catch them and then they will stop just long enough to give you hugs and kisses befor they run away againfor another teasing game of tag with the wind. You can just look in their playful eyes and see...that you were meant to be together forever.
You can create a bond so well with a horse that when they get taken from their master and their best friend. They get home sick and they stop eating and drinking because they get depressed just like us and they get stressed because they miss you and worry about how your doing and they always wonder why they had to leave and what they did wrong to make this happen, they just dont understand. i've had my best friend takin from me and it hurt both us so bad that i even lost sleep, it was her fault that i screwed up and got her takin from me but i got what i deserved but i felt terrible because i put her through so much depression and hurt and i still tell her im sorry for that, even today.
Yeah, sure you have tough times too, but dont we all? I mean sometimes your horse is going to act up, but usually its for a good reason. You just have to ride the tough times out and get over them because no matter what you do they will still love you. Horses are very independent and strong willed that sometimes they will test your patience and you have to put them back in place and show them whos boss. Horses will spook at things in different surroundings but they usually wont if they trust you enough to know that you would never do anything to harm them or put them in danger, a horse that loves and trusts you will never ever, hurt you on purpose and they give us signs when they sense something isint right because they want to protect you.
Some people are afraid of horses but hrey shouldnt be because horses are just gentle giants who will never hurt you on purpose unless they are mistreated or beat and neglected. Even then you should never show fear around a horse because they can very easily tell if you are scared or mad and wont act the same and will be crude or skidish. If your calm and patient (not nervous) more than likley the horse willbe calm and patient as well. horses may also act up if they weather is going to get bad.
Alli know is that all of this is very true and i have expirienced it all. Horses will always have my heart becuase they are always there for me and they have two sturdy shoulders for me to cry on. Horses love you for who you are and never forget it because it would be a great thing to lose. You just have to relax, trust your horse, and show them love and affection and they will return them all in favor for your friendship and companionship.
