Has been an Equestrian Life Member since January 20, 2009, lives in Penngrove, California, United States and considers herself a Professional in the English discipline of Hunter / Jumper. She is affiliated with Sonoma Valley Stables.
Hope Hobday Glynn rode as a junior in Northern California under the tutelage of her mother Pricilla Hobday and Patty Ball. She competed primarily in the hunters and equitation as a junior rider.
Winner of all the northern California medal finals as well as numerous year-end hunter championships, Hope chose to become a professional after graduating from UC Davis. In 2007 she was horseshowtime.com "Rider of the Year" where points are accumulated at all horse shows and divisions in the United States. She has been the leading California hunter rider in both 2005 and 2006. Her professional highlights also include winner of the 2005, 2006, 2007, & 2008 Norcal Hunter Classic, winner of the 2005, 2007, 2008, & 2009 Golden State Hunter Classic, 2007 Trainer Equitation Champion Let's Show, numerous open hunter championships for year end NorCal, PCHA, and Zone 10. Hope was the handler and trainer of the 2007 USEF Sallie B. Wheeler Best Young Horse C'Czar owned by Helen McEvoy. In 2008 during the$5,000 Handy Hunter Classic of Menlo Hope won with Campari, and was second on Tessa. Hope was also high score handler at the West Coast IHF Sallie B. Wheeler Finals in 2008.Hope has been a licensed USEF judge in hunters and hunter seat equitation since 1997.
In 2009 she was horseshowtime.com rider of the year for the second time as well as finished the year with the win in the $10,000 Sacramento International Hunter Derby aboard Rienzo. She was also presented the top hunter rider award and top hunter score for the show on Woodstock. Her students were 1st through 5th in the Hunter Chase Challenge in November. SVS had 4 of the top 5 horses in the $5000 Menlo Handy Hunter Derby in August. Hope and her husband Ned rode and or trained 6 PCHA champions in 2009 including Rienzo, Winter, Franklin, Lottie, Campari, and Eq rider Jill Stevens. She is proudly sponsored by Ariat, Ecogold pads, GoGirl Energy Drink, Game Ready, MDC Stirrups, and Antares saddles and helmets.
In 2010 Hope has won 6 derby classes the $10,000 sonoma horse park derby on Olivia Hellmans Woodstock, 4 of the Woodside hunter derbies three of which on Woodstock and one on Swingtime. She also won the $5000 golden state hunter derby and her student Eleanor Hellman win the $2,500 Pickwick hunter Derby on Winter. She was champion regular working hunter and recipient of the Patrick Rostrom memorial trophy on Chance of Flurries at the Menlo Charity Horse Show.
Hope and Ned Glynn operate Sonoma Valley Stables in Petaluma, CA They compete and train numerous champions in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. They have a wonderful little girl Avery Rose who is learning how to do the posting trot and steer this year!
