About Me

First, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Amie Beckett and I have recently moved to this facility. I am writting this as an informational guide to what I am about and how I have obtained these essential skills. I have my Bachelors Degree from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in Equine Science and an A.A.S. Degree from Parkland College in Equine Management. But, besides the college, books and classes experience is also very important.

When I was fifteen, I volunteered at Janesway Farms in Bartlett, IL throughout the summers and on the weekends during high school I led 1-2 hour trail rides. I have also worked at three different dude ranches; Goosewing Ranch in Jackson Hole, WY, Lane Guest Ranch in Estes Park, CO and 7D Ranch in Cody, WY. Also, my last semester at SIUC, I had the delight to work with Mark Schwarm, a well known horse trainer in the Southern Illinois area. Mark taught a Colt Starting/Problem Horse class four days a week, three hours per day on innovative techniques on Natural Horsemanship. A lot of what Mark learned throughout his years came from well known Horsemen such as Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Bryan Neubert, Buck Brannaman and Joe Wolter.

Throughout all of my adventures and experiences I have come to the conclusion that Natural Horsemanship is the only way to go when it comes to starting horses, working with problem horses or just simply trying to build a stronger partnership between you and your horse. Below you will find a list of what I have to offer to you and your horse; as stated before “A Healthy Horse is a Happy Horse.” Prices are subject to change depending on what you and/or your horse may feel is necessary. Thank you so much for you time, and I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you and your horses personally!
