About Me
My first experience with horses, was when I was 18 months old and my mom entered me in the local Fair's Lead Line class. I was atop her Canadian Sport Horse, and needless to say- won the class (cuteness factor)? :) At age three I had my first pony, a little Shetland named Prince. The first day I met him he bit me, the first day I rode him, he bucked me off. Prince was sold a month later. Then I got Clancy, a Welsh Mountain Pony, and he is everything Prince wasn't. Together we entered fairs, pony club dressage, pony club showjumping and even the local dressage association shows. He was an awesome jumper, winning many classes and a reasoable dressage mount. From Clancy I started riding Bandit, my brother's Dartmoor pony whom I competed with in P.P.G. This pony is super fast and even at age 25 he is the liveliest pony on the farm. During this time I was also riding a Connemara pony that I took in Dressage shows. She has the cutest daisy-cutter movement around and we enjoyed many prosperous show seasons. I undertook the job of training a Hackney/ Hannoverian/ Thoroughbred pony at age 11- I backed her, trained her in dressage, showjumping, eventing and P.P.G., selling her this summer. When the Connemara went lame, I got my first horse, an off the track racehorse named Lazer. He was my best friend for four years before he passed away this winter. I made my jump into eventing at age 12 and progressed through Entry level to Training level in those four short years (we planned on going Prelim this summer). I got a green Thoroughbred that I trained and sold after Lazer past away. I am currently riding my brother's Belgian/ TB at the Entry/ Pretraining level, and have just purchased a two year old Trakehner that I am planning to train for upper level Eventing and Dressage. I love training horses and have made many successful sales already (at the age of 16). I aspire to one day represent Canada at the Olympics in either Eventing or Dressage. Hopefully the partnership between my Trakehner and I will flourish and these dreams will become a reality.
