About Me
I grew up showing horses. My father, Clayton Woosley, was a famous stock horse trainer in the 60s and 70s and later was involved in founding NRHA, which he was honored by his NRHA Hall OF FAME INDUCTION, but my mother loved English events. So I have a passion for both. I've shown in just about all the events offered by AQHA as a youth, and then established my own training business upon graduation from Midway College after competing at the IHSA NATIONALS and winning the coveted AQHA Western Rider award. After many years of showing in the performance classes in AQHA, I met the love of my life, Van Luse, who also shares my passion for training wonderful performance horses. By the end of the nineties, we began to specialize our training program solely to reining horses. Since 1994, I have been an NRHA approved Worldwide Judge.
We've been fortunate to have modest success showing NRHA. I recently completed a dream of mine to become a NRHA World Champion. I am still astounded that I flew with my horse to Europe to accomplish that world title! In 2003 Van showed Dunnies Prescription to a phenomenal finish, he earned an astounding $131,000. That positioned him as NRHA's number 5 all time money earning rider for that year.
We absolutely enjoy teaching riders the art of reining, and have shared in the joy of alot them reaching their goals! We get to know our clients and horses as individuals and taylor our training/teaching procedures to fit their needs.
Horses have been a wonderful way of life for me and my family and I enjoy sharing that special relationship that I achieve with my horses on with other horse lovers!
