About Me
I am a Registered BHS Stable Manager and BHS Intermediate Instructor, as well as holding the Association of British Riding Schools Advanced Teaching Diploma and Grooms Diploma. I have an MSc in Equine Science.
I have been teaching since 1991 and have trained, produced and bred horses for dressage, showjumping, eventing and showing at national level in the UK, in addition to being on the UK Championship winning England team for TREC. I specialise in training adults and children who want to enjoy and progress in their riding - whether that just means that they want to improve their skills and have a more enjoyable horse to ride or whether they are aiming to compete at a decent level. I have taught freelance, in riding schools and at equine colleges.
I have recently moved to Indiana, USA with my Lusitano mare - who was Female Champion at the UK Breed Show in 2006 and who is working on her dressage! I have just purchased a OTT Thoroughbred, through the Friends of Ferdinand charity, called Roman who I am aiming to event and dressage with and possibly do some Hunter/Jumper competitions. I am also currently training another Friends of Ferdinand horse - called Nightwing - who is looking for a dressage home.
