About Me

I started my horse crazy career at 8 years old when my best friend took me to one of her riding lessons. I knew in my heart then what I was born to do! I begged my parents for lessons and that christmas I opened up a box that had a certificate in it for 10 riding lessons at 4-M Farms in San Antonio, TX. Those 10 lessons blew by and I begged to keep riding...that wish was granted as my trainer left for another state and I moved on to Wild Sunday Farm among a few other barns after that to ride ponies (to make a short story) until I was 13 and moved on to ride more ponies and become a working student. I would not trade the experience I gained working under trainers for the world!
The Christmas of my 16th birthday I opened another box to find a picture of Challenger and Me at our first show when we won reserve champion my first time in the jumpers! The caption at the bottom of the frame read, "rider and owner!" I was so happy! Challenger and my career went through the children's jumpers, modified jumpers, and a taste of some real jumps in the junior A/O jumpers. That horse can fly and I absolutely love him and his huge heart for life!
Challenger played a role in my ticket to ride on a college NCAA team so I only thought it appropriate to not sell him but take him with me! Our career landed at SFA in Nacogdoches, TX and kept sailing in the ribbons at the "A" shows. A broken fibula by a prof. at the university sent our career so a thundering hault for a year through surgery and rehab. After gaining 100% recovery and working our way to the show ring another bump in the road happened when a copperhead snake bit him in the other hock! Cellulitis took a toll on our career for a few months but we were back and rolling through the show ring after recover and now competing in mini prix, the 3'6'', and 4' divisions...and WINNING the blues! Well that's a short version of the english side of my career...western coming soon! :)
