About Me

Adria started her love of horses when she was 7 years old at Summer Camp. She began taking regular lessons at the Lake Oswego Hunt Club Riding School. After 3 years in the Riding School, she moved on to train with Keith Schramm, the Eventing trainer at the Club. Under Keith, Adria received opportunities to ride a wide variety of horses and eventually worked up to jumping 3' and competing at the Novice level. Since she didn't own a horse, Keith had her working with some of his green horses and horses that needed schooling giving her the ability to ride most horses.

After high school, Adria went to Goucher College and competed on their IHSA and ANRC teams. She did well for the team going to Regionals her Sophomore and Senior years as an individual, taking Regional Champion to move on to compete at Zones her Senior year. She missed going to Nationals placing 6th out of 12. She competed for the team at Regionals and Zones her Junior year, placing 3rd at Zones in her class. For ANRC, she competed in an invitational at Sweetbriar College. Her experience in Eventing gave her an advantage. She took Champion over all for her level and helped her team take Champion.

During her time at Goucher College, she also taught as an Assistant Instructor, teaching the beginners basic equitation. On her summers at home she taught summer camps and lessons for the Lake Oswego Hunt Club Riding School and was Keith's working student, riding his client's horses. After college, she worked for a Holistic Vet in Tigard while continuing to be Keith's working student. After about 2 years she was hired as the Assistant Director of the Lake Oswego Hunt Club Riding School. As the Assistant, she did all the day-to-day work, managing the instructors, the horse care and organizing lessons and the office. During the summer this included organizing and teaching all the summer camps. She became the Interim Riding School Manager after 10 months at the Club when the Director left. She added on more duties and developed more skills over the next 6 months. She took her knowledge and started her own program at Sherwood Forest Equestrian Center, Iron Horse Riding Academy. She now teaches exclusively at Sherwood Forest EC, where she focuses on teaching her students about the sport of Eventing, the beginners to students jumping 2’9”.
