About Me

Hi, I'm Audrey!

I started riding in 2000 after begging my mom to start taking riding lessons. I immediatly fell in love with the sport, which wasnt such great news for my mom! Two years later I got my first horse; she was a good learning expirence, but not the horse for me. We ended up selling her and I rode my first show season on one of my trainers lesson horses, Baco, in 2003. Again, we were not a great match and I fell off at every show that season (Baco was almost 17 hands and I was only 4'9" at the time). Finally in early 2004 I found the perfect horse for me. Deeds was an off the track Quarter Horse and we were both in need of a little confidence boost. We taught each trust and understanding and I owned and showed him from 2004 until I sold him in early 2007. When I was in the process of selling Deeds, I started training a new pony that she got in on a trade. He was a rather interesting pony and we formed a great bond. I was the only one, besides my trainer, who he respected and I loved that pony. Much to my surprise, I ended up finding another horse while preparing Murphy for the coming show season. I went with one of my friend to look at a horse and I turned out the owner was selling a lot of her herd due to there move out of state. My trainer conviced me to look at this rather ugly just turning 4, unbroke, nervous gelding. He had beautiful markings and nice movement, but could I seriously decide if I liked this horse enough to buy him with only meeting him once? I ended up purchasing him and I wasnt too excited about it all at first. I continued working with Murphy while I also got started on breaking out my new horse, Rocky. We broke him out in June with no hassels what so ever and much to my surprise we took him to his first show in October doing full courses at 2'3". We were champion in our division that weekend. Rocky had transformed before my eyes. He went from a tiny, unmuscular baby into a beautiful gelding who loves to show off in the ring. We have now been competing for 2 years and I love him to death. I am so glad that I bought him on an "impulse".
