About Me
im a 15 year old who has been riding horses since i was 7. I got my first pony when i was 7 and he was named Red Cloud . I learned to ride him and was a pretty good rider by the time i was 10. when i turned 10 i had grown to big for him so i started looking for a horse. When you're 10 years old you just want any horse to ride and it doesn't matter what age or breed he is. At least that's the way i was since the horse i picked that i liked was an untrained yearling paint stud colt. Fortunately i got lucky with him since he turned out to be the sweetest most gentle colt ever and always forgave if i made a mistake since i was still a pretty novice horse owner back then. When Stampede(thats what we named him) turned 3 we gelded him , even though he never acted studdy, and started training him under saddle since my g-ma is a natural horsemanship trainer. when he turned 4 i was more experienced horse person and started riding him on trails. I boarded both my pony and my horse at my g-ma's until 2007 and then we moved him to my 20 acre ranch in Kern County , California.
Then in April 2010 my favorite pony and best friend ,Red Cloud, passed away due to old age. For weeks Stampede was depressed and nieghing for his friend since they had been together since he was just a little colt. Eventually he started being the old horse he used to be when i started riding him a lot more on the trails. I was homeschooled in eighth grade so i was able to ride him everyday. I slowly started noticing the life go back into him as we rode each day for longer and longer eventually being able to ride over 25 miles in one day.
Today he is an amazing horse that is also my best friend. We now do gymkhanas, barrel racing, and still lots of trail riding. He also now has a new friend named Bubba, who is a teenage trail horse and a retired paso fino show horse.
