About Me

So, me in a nut shell... I Love horses! I am in a pre-veterinary program at the moment in hopes of becoming a large animal veterinarian specializing in horses. I have often thought of becoming certified in equine massage therapy and chiropractics. This summer I am planning on getting my Level 1 coaching. I am a fanatic about animals great and small all types excluding most insects and spiders. I enjoy showing my two boys and doing gymkanna and jumping with my moms mare. I am a Paint girl through and though! Might have to do with the fact that my first horse Spirit was a paint horse. Loved him so much I went and bought my self another Paint as a weanling. The two horses that a have ever owned are the horses that have taught me everything I know about handling/ riding/ keeping and loving horses! Spirit taught me to ride... I was on the ground more often than I would have liked but with out him I wouldn't have the seat I have now when riding. Phantom taught me just about as much as I was able to teach him... if not more. I trained him through a program in 4-H called YHDP (Young Horse Development Program). This program involves the member going to a number of ranches looking at the stock and choosing their foal with no guidance or help of any sort. What you pick is what you got. My choice was Phantom. The day my family went to pick him up and bring him home the rancher ran Phantom and his dam into a chute, put a halter on Phantom than let the mother go. Phantom was put in the trailer and on his way to his new home. Kinda traumatizing I thought but this was how the rancher usually did it. Over the last couple of years I have been training Phantom. He has turned out to be a wonderful horse to work with! My life at the moment is my two boys (Spirit and Phantom)! So that's me in a nut shell at the moment. Look forward to meeting some new horsey people on this site!
