What's a good product to help un-matt a tail? My mom's gelding's tail is really bad. I cut off the worst of it, but it's just not coming out, and I don't want to cut off all of it because Spring's coming.

Vetrolin Shine or Cowboy Magic, anything that has silicone in it will make it slippery enough to work the matts out. After that, just make sure you keep conditioner in it regularly. Either way you look at it, it's probably going to be a heafty job getting his tail back to normal.

I looove Cowboy Magic. It always does an amazing job, although it is a little pricey, I haven't found a product that works better.
