We just play around in the arena, nothing crazy. I usually don't work him even when it's not hot outside to a hard crazy sweat.

It depends on the heat and the humidity. If it's just hot and there's a breeze, we will do light work, but if it's really hot and humid, they get the day off.

On a day that it is expected to get very hot, I would try to ride early morning or late in the day when not so hot.

I don't ride if the horses are sweaty by just standing out in the pasture. And if the temp is 70+ I just do a light trail ride like walk/jog.

Yeah. I usually wait until the evening when the air is a lot cooler so she can still get her exercise. If I didn't ride in the heat, I wouldn't be riding at all in the summer, it gets to 30 degrees most days. I get up at 5:30 AM in summer to ride.

It depends...if we are cool and it suddenly gets hot then no we dont ride. If it has slowly gotten hotter over the course of time then yes we still ride. We usually hit the mountains and woods where it is cooler or ride to a lake or creek so we (including the horses) can go swimming and cool off...and if we are at an event we make sure to let them rest and that they drink often.
