I'm trying to teach my 2 y/o to ground drive, I started today. She seems to have this problem about being "alone". As soon as I leave her side, she kind of gets nervous, and spins around and around until she knows I'm right by her head. What could be the reason for this, and is there something to help it? She's kind of the same way when I lunge her, I have to kind of chase her to keep her going in a circle.

What I mean is is that you should find a horse person that knows how to lead a horse, that will back up your ques from behind her. This way she will have someone at her head that will keep her from turning around, and some one is always right there to reasure her. And remember she is 2 years old.

get her going good at the lunge and teach her confidence before you try to drive her. you probably need to do more ground work. and teach her to stand still while you move all around her and even move away from her. That lesson is invaluable when ground driving and getting set up to drive.
