Equestrian Life is an online community for horse people.
We bring together horse people across all disciplines, breeds and sports.
We invite you to connect with others who love horses as much as you do.
Where do you keep your horses? We are set up at home to have them here, but for the most part we keep them at a local stable....they have a larger pasture over there and an indoor arena...two luxeries I cant afford at home...plus the barn owner is lots of fun.
At home. I think I would miss looking out my bedroom window every morning to see my horses! I wish I could board one of my horses in the winter, though, I would be able to ride tons more with an indoor!
We currently board at a friends house.
our 2, 1 of her 2 and another gelding are all in a 5 acre pasture.
She only has 3 other boarders besides us, so it's pretty small. 2 of the boarders are in their own smaller pasture as well.
they have a large arena and then a round pen, as well as a dry lot and stalls if we need them.
It's nice. I like not having to worry about if my horse is being taken care of or if he's getting fed properly and if I can't make it out, I know I can count on them to give him his medications and supplements.
I board my horse at an incredible facility. He is out 24/7 with a run in that has an automatic waterer. There is a heavy duty round pen, indoor arena, outdoor rings and a swimming pond with a beach area for easy access for the horses. There are 2 barns full of stalls, wash areas and washroom facilities in the one barn. There are also riding trails around the 50 acrea property as well. The owners are great people as well. I feel like I'm on holidays when I go there.
Dewey is boarded at a private residence. The guy works at a barn that Dewey was boarded at before, so I know he is very well taken care of. I have peace of mind, and it is super cheap. We did, however, just rent a place with a couple of horses and a huge arena, so hopefully I can move him there!
