How about some ideas on how to beat the heat (without trailering down to the beach)

I work my horses early in the morning and always have a bucket of cool water ready with some liniment in it to wipe them down when we are done. My horses are all in stalls so they have fans on them, and if needed in the evenings I will rewipe them down with cool water. Freezer pops for for me and kids at the barn, and lots of water for all.

I use a rotating fan just outside my horse's stall to blow and circulate the air around her. It also helps with the fly problem.

I ride my horse in the early morning and somtimes in the sprinklers
